Collaborations and health services
In 2024, IPB University strengthened various collaborations in the health sector, which can be categorized based on global, national and local levels. IPB University strengthened health collaborations at global, national, and local levels through partnerships with institutions focused on human, animal, and environmental health. At the faculty level, this collaboration mainly involves the School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (SKHB), Faculty of Medicine (FK), and the Faculty of Human Ecology with the aim of improving the quality of education, research, and health services.
- Global Level
Other collaborations at the Global Level
- Collaboration with the Netherlands. Collaboration between IPB University and the Netherlands includes the Week of Indonesia-Netherlands Education and Research (WINNER) 2024. This collaboration with the Netherlands has resulted in various innovations, including NWO One Health, Smart-In-Ag for smart agriculture, SustainPalm, and more.
- Visiting Professor with Kasetsart University, Thailand. Department of Community Nutrition IPB University held a Visiting Professor program by presenting Assoc. Prof. Wannee Jirapakkul from Kasetsart University.
- Universiti Putra Malaysia, the Department of Community Nutrition, IPB University organized the International Conference on Nutrition and Food (ICNF) 2024, carrying the theme “Sustainable Nutrition and Food for Human Development.” The conference was attended by 136 participants and produced 132 research articles.

- National Level
- SVMBS IPB University Provides Animal Health and Meat Inspection Services for Eid al-Adha 1445H. This activity is a collaboration between SVMBS IPB University and the Bogor City Food and Agriculture Security Service, Bogor Regency Fisheries and Livestock Service, Depok City Food, Agriculture, and Fisheries Security Service, and DKI Jakarta Food, Maritime, and Agriculture Security Service. This animal health and meat inspection activity is a form of community service carried out by SVMBS IPB University. It is also part of the veterinary profession’s responsibility to ensure the quality of animal-derived food and public health as consumers of animal-derived food.
- The Ministry of Health Republic of Indonesia with IPB University held a public lecture on “Future Medicine,” led by Indonesian Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin. The lecture discussed the transformation of Indonesia’s healthcare system and the importance of collaboration in the healthcare sector.
- Collaboration with Hermina Central Hospital on Kidney Transplantation. The Veterinary Teaching Hospital (RSHP) of IPB University has established a collaboration with Hermina Central Hospital to initiate kidney transplant surgery services for humans. As part of the preparation for this service, the Hermina Hospital medical team participated in kidney transplant training on pigs at the IPB Veterinary Teaching Hospital.
- Collaboration with Cibinong Regional Public Hospital and the Indonesian Heart Foundation. In celebration of its 61st Anniversary, the Association of IPB University Retirees (P3IPB) signed a cooperation agreement with Cibinong Regional Public Hospital (RSUD Cibinong) and the Indonesian Heart Foundation, Bogor Regency Branch. The collaboration includes health education programs, medical check-up discounts for P3IPB members, and the organization of heart-healthy exercise sessions at IPB Dramaga Campus.
- Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Competency Certification for support (non-academic) staff. The event was organized in collaboration with PT Kandel Sekeco International. The speakers and presenters were from PT Kandel Sekeco International and BNSP. This was followed by a briefing on essay exam completion and interview sessions.
- Local Level
- Premarital Education Program for Stunting Prevention. IPB University, in collaboration with the Bogor Regency Government, implemented the Premarital Education Program aimed at preventing stunting through education for prospective brides and grooms on the importance of pre-marital health and adequate nutrition.
Free Healthcare Services in Cileuksa Village. In collaboration with Aksi Relawan Mandiri of the IPB Alumni Association (ARM HA-IPB), IPB University provided free medical services and treatment for 164 residents of Cileuksa Village, Bogor Regency. The services included blood pressure checks, blood sugar tests, uric acid tests, and cholesterol screenings.
IPB University’s outreach programs and projects that promote health and well-being in the local community are diverse and involve several key faculties, research centers, and student organizations. The outreach programs target local communities, disadvantaged people, as well as immigrant communities.
Here are some of the major initiatives and programs:
- Community Service Program (KKN – Kuliah Kerja Nyata)
One of the flagship outreach activities of student volunteering is the Community Service program, also known as “Kuliah Kerja Nyata” (KKN). During KKN, students live in local communities, especially in rural or underdeveloped areas, for several weeks. They also serve immigrant communities during this Community Service Program. They help with various projects aimed at improving health and well-being, including: One Health Education, Sanitation and Hygiene. Some of the Community Service Programs are as follows
Community Health Program in Mesuji. Through the KKN Inovasi program, IPB University, in collaboration with the Mesuji District Health Office, conducted Posyandu (integrated health post) activities in Bangun Jaya Village. The program aimed to assess and monitor the health conditions of the village, particularly among vulnerable groups (the elderly), and to detect early signs of conditions requiring further treatment. Health services provided included blood pressure, cholesterol, uric acid, and blood sugar checks, weight measurement, midwife consultations, and medicine distribution for elderly, pre-elderly, and adolescent participants.
- Animal Health and Sacrificial Meat Inspection. Students and faculty members of School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences IPB actively supported the community’s health needs by providing livestock and meat health checks for Eid al-Adha celebrations. They inspected animal health, offered consultations, and shared safe slaughtering practices, aiming to ensure high-quality, healthy meat for consumption. This effort also educated the public on preventing zoonotic diseases, enhancing community health awareness and safety in animal handling and food preparation.
- Nutrition Education at SDN 9 Bantarjati, Bogor. Students from the IPB University Vocational School organized a nutrition education session titled “Isi Piringku” (“What’s on My Plate”) at SDN 9 Bantarjati, Bogor. The activity aimed to raise students’ awareness of the importance of balanced eating habits to prevent stunting and obesity. Educational materials such as posters and keychains were distributed to reinforce the key messages.
- World Rabies Day 2024 Activities. In commemoration of World Rabies Day 2024, the IPB University Vocational School actively participated by providing free vaccinations for pets such as cats, dogs, and ferrets. This activity was held in collaboration with the Bogor City Food and Agriculture Security Office (DKPP) and the Indonesian Veterinary Medical Association (PDHI) West Java II Branch, aiming to raise public awareness of the importance of rabies vaccination.
- Free Healthcare Services in Underdeveloped Areas. In collaboration with Aksi Relawan/Mandiri of the IPB Alumni Association (ARM HA-IPB), IPB University provided free healthcare and medical treatment for 164 residents of Cipendawa Hamlet, Cileuksa Village, Bogor Regency. The services included blood pressure checks, blood sugar tests, uric acid tests, and cholesterol screenings. This activity is part of the Post-Disaster Land Rehabilitation and Community Nutrition Improvement Program, which has been ongoing since November 2023 through 2024.
- IPB Medical Clinics and Collaboration with Health Services. The IPB Dramaga Clinic, in collaboration with Health Services, is also open to the public.
- Medical check up at Agrianita Day. As part of Agrianita Day 2024, Agrianita IPB offered free health check-up services for the general public.
IPB University demonstrates a strong commitment to enhancing the physical and mental well-being of its students, faculty, staff, and the surrounding community. To support this commitment, the university provides a wide range of indoor and outdoor sports facilities such as football, basketball, volleyball, and futsal courts—that promote active and healthy lifestyles. Most of these facilities are accessible to the public free of charge, reflecting IPB’s dedication to community engagement and inclusivity, with only a few requiring minimal reservation fees. Additionally, the campus features a green and well-maintained jogging track that is freely open to the public, further supporting the creation of a healthy and sustainable campus environment.

Gelanggang Olahraga / Soccer field (outdoor)

The Gelanggang Olahraga (GOR) Field serves as a multifunctional sports facility designed in an oval shape, featuring a 400-meter-long and 10-meter-wide athletic track encircling a 105 x 70 m² football field. This facility is highly favored by students for various daily and weekend sports activities, fostering an active and healthy campus lifestyle. Beyond its primary function as a sports venue, the GOR Field also accommodates major university events such as student orientation (MPKMB), Gebyar Nusantara Nights, and the IPB University Dies Natalis celebrations, making it an essential space for both physical well-being and community engagement within the campus.
Gymnasium Indoor

The indoor gymnasium serves as the central facility for student sports activities at IPB University, located within the Dramaga Campus. It hosts a variety of university- and faculty-level sports competitions, including futsal, basketball, and aerobics, thereby supporting the development of students’ physical fitness and teamwork skills. In addition to serving as a venue for sports events, the gymnasium also functions as a learning space that facilitates physical education courses for first-year students, providing both students and lecturers with a well-equipped environment to promote health, discipline, and an active lifestyle.
Agrifitness

Agrifitness is an indoor fitness facility located in Wisma Landhuis (Landhuis Guesthouse) at IPB University’s Dramaga Campus, primarily designated for guests staying at the guesthouse. In addition, IPB University operates a comprehensive Fitness and Wellness Center managed by the Department of Community Nutrition, Faculty of Human Ecology. This center promotes a culture of health and well-being by offering membership programs open to faculty members, administrative staff, alumni, university partners, and part-time students, providing them with accessible opportunities to engage in regular physical activity and maintain a balanced lifestyle.

Archery Site Facility

IPB University provides an archery facility that is accessible to both students and the public, supporting the development of physical coordination and focus through sports. Every Sunday, students organize interactive sharing sessions that serve as a platform for exchanging knowledge and skills related to archery. During these sessions, participants share practical tips, techniques, and experiences, fostering a collaborative learning environment that strengthens community engagement and promotes a healthy, active lifestyle among members of the university and the broader public.
Basketball Field, Badminton, Tennis, and Futsal Facilities

IPB University provides extensive sports infrastructure to support an active and healthy academic community, including three basketball courts, two badminton courts, three tennis courts, and two futsal fields located across the Dramaga and Cilibende Campuses. These facilities are strategically distributed to ensure accessibility for students, faculty, and staff, thereby promoting regular physical activity, sportsmanship, and overall well-being within the university environment.
Equestrian Park IPB University

The IPB University Equestrian Park serves as a dedicated facility that supports the academic community in developing their interests and talents in equestrian sports. In addition to accommodating student activities and training, the facility is also open to the public, allowing local community members to enjoy horseback riding experiences on weekends. Furthermore, the Equestrian Park functions as a venue for organizing inter-student equestrian competitions, thereby fostering skill development, sportsmanship, and the advancement of equestrian sports within and beyond the university community.

Nutrition and Fitness Club
The Nutrition and Fitness Club plays a pivotal role in fostering a culture of health, wellness, and active living within the IPB University community. Through its initiatives, the club promotes regular physical activity and healthy lifestyle practices to enhance the overall well-being of students and staff. By organizing engaging events and wellness programs, the club seeks to make fitness an enjoyable and integral aspect of daily life at IPB University, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to holistic student development and sustainable health promotion.
IPB University has actively opened its campus sports facilities to the wider community and for public events.
- IPB Half Marathon 2024. IPB Dramaga Campus served as the venue for the IPB Run Half Marathon 2024, which attracted more than 3,500 runners from diverse backgrounds, including students, alumni, and the general public.
- Sharing Sports Facilities with the Local Community. Our university actively shares its sports facilities with the local community. The sports areas, including the running track and other open spaces at IPB University’s campus in Bogor, are accessible not only to students and staff but also to residents from surrounding areas. Many members of the public regularly use these facilities for jogging, walking, and recreational activities, especially during mornings and weekends. This openness reflects IPB University’s commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle and strengthening community engagement through shared use of its sports infrastructure.
- SV Gymnasium for DBL. In addition, campus sports venues such as the SV IPB Gymnasium in Bogor have hosted external competitions, including the DBL with Kopi Good Day West Java Basketball Tournament, an inter-school basketball competition
- The Vocational School of IPB University was designated as the home arena for the Indonesian Basketball League (IBL) Tokopedia 2024 season, demonstrating IPB’s commitment to opening its sports facilities to the wider community. The use of the Vocational School gymnasium as a venue for professional competitions reflects the university’s policy of sharing sports facilities with the local community, while also reinforcing IPB’s role in supporting social engagement and promoting a healthy lifestyle in society.
Through these initiatives, IPB University demonstrates its commitment not only to utilizing sports facilities for internal purposes but also to sharing them with the local community, schools, and the general public. This approach supports sports development, encourages collaboration, and promotes a healthy and active lifestyle among the broader society.

IPB Health Unit, including the Clinic of IPB, holds the role and functions of serving lecturers, educational staff as well as their main family members, and students with free health care services and basic medical treatment, which includes information and services related to sexual and reproductive health care. Clinic of IPB has been appointed as a primary/basic health care provider and therefore allows for free-of-charge service for the public under the national social security agency for healthcare.
Some activities regarding sexual and reproductive health-care services:
- IPB University’s Premarital Education Program Provides Adolescents with Knowledge on Nutrition and Reproductive Health. IPB University provides students with access to sexual and reproductive health education through various initiatives. For instance, the university organized a premarital education program in Sinarsari Village, Bogor, focusing on reproductive health and nutrition. This program, conducted by the Directorate of Agromaritime Community Development (DPMA) and the Center for Human Resource Development (P2SDM), aimed to equip adolescents with knowledge about puberty, sexual maturity, and reproductive health. The sessions also addressed nutrition, emphasizing the importance of a balanced diet to prevent issues like anemia and stunting. These efforts reflect IPB University’s commitment to providing students with access to sexual and reproductive health education and services.
- IPB University maintains student health through healthy Saturday activities for dormitory residents. IPB University provides students with access to sexual and reproductive health education through various initiatives. For instance, the university organized a premarital education program in Sinarsari Village, Bogor, focusing on reproductive health and nutrition. This program, conducted by the Directorate of Agromaritime Community Development (DPMA) and the Center for Human Resource Development (P2SDM), aimed to equip adolescents with knowledge about puberty, sexual maturity, and reproductive health. The sessions also addressed nutrition, emphasizing the importance of a balanced diet to prevent issues like anemia and stunting. These efforts reflect IPB University’s commitment to providing students with access to sexual and reproductive health education and services.
- Online Seminar on Sexual Harassment. IPB University ensures that students have access to comprehensive sexual and reproductive health education through various awareness programs. The university also promotes safe digital spaces to prevent online sexual violence, emphasizing respectful behavior, gender sensitivity, and personal safety. These initiatives reflect IPB University’s strong commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive campus environment.
- Undana’s DWP Hosts IPB FEMA Delegation to Strengthen Synergy in Addressing Campus Sexual Violence. IPB University collaborates with Universitas Nusa Cendana (Undana) to address campus sexual violence through inter-institutional synergy. A delegation from IPB’s Faculty of Human Ecology (FEMA) visited Undana’s Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) to strengthen efforts in combating sexual violence on campus. The visit included discussions on strategic measures such as anti-sexual violence education, counseling services, and training for Undana’s Sexual Violence Prevention and Handling Task Force (Satgas PPKS). This collaboration exemplifies IPB University’s commitment to providing students with access to sexual and reproductive health education and services.
- Agrianita Day 2024. Agrianita IPB University held a series of events during Agrianita Day 2024, one of which was a health screening program that included free breast ultrasound and Pap smear examinations covered by BPJS.
IPB University is committed to providing mental health support to IPB students, lecturers, and educational staff. IPB provides a counseling program free of charge to all students, and each Department is equipped with a team of counselors as appointed by the Rector’s Decree No.60/IT3/KM/2021.
IPB University has a Counseling Guidance Team (Tim Bimbingan dan Konseling) which focuses on Mental Health of students and Staff.

IPB also recognizes the importance of students’ peer support, and therefore, various events are hosted to provide students with the ability to empathize with and support other students in need. Students are trained with basic skills such as intellectual competence (logical thinking), and creative agility (problem-solving – resource identification – solution), to provide empathy and supportive response.
The following are examples of programs and events held to mental health support:
- Mental health assessment. IPB University provides mental health support services through the Guidance and Counseling Team (TBK), offering psychological assistance both individually and in groups. Students can access services such as peer counselors and mental health mentoring programs to help manage academic stress and campus life challenges. One of its service is mental health assessment.
- Mental Health Seminar. IPB University is also actively involved in organizing seminars and campaigns related to mental health. In collaboration with psychologists and psychiatrists, IPB works to prevent psychological disorders within the campus community. This support aligns with the university’s commitment to creating a safe and inclusive learning environment while promoting the sustainable mental well-being of students.
- Counseling Team SV. IPB University provides students with access to mental health support through the Guidance and Counseling (BK) division of the Vocational School. The division offers individual and group counseling, self-development training, academic mentoring, and career guidance. Services are delivered by faculty members and trained peer counselors, ensuring students receive personalized support. These efforts reflect IPB University’s commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that promotes students’ mental well-being.
- IPB University provides institutional support for student mental health through initiatives such as the Gen Z Mental Health Awareness Webinar “Dare to Care for Mental Health”, organized by the Student & Alumni Commission of SV IPB on November 2, 2024. This online webinar encouraged students to recognize the importance of prioritizing mental well-being in both academic and social life, with psychologist S. Septiani delivering practical strategies to manage stress and emotional challenges, ensuring that such pressures do not hinder students’ daily activities and productivity.
IPB University has a smoke-free policy, as stated in IPB Rector’s Regulation No. 22 of 2021 (page 43, point 17). Students and lecturers are not permitted to smoke in the room during lecture activities. IPB University has established a Smoke-Free Campus Policy (Kampus Tanpa Rokok) as a demonstration of its commitment to creating a healthy, clean, and comfortable environment for all members of the academic community and the public. Through the Rector’s Regulation, the university designates all campus areas as smoke-free zones.
Rector’s Decree 32/IT3/KM/2020 (page 64-75) regarding student life at IPB University, including a prohibition on smoking on campus. This ban is part of a broader effort to promote a healthy environment for students and staff. By eliminating smoking areas, the university aims to protect non-smokers from secondhand smoke and encourage healthier lifestyle choices among students. The policy reflects a commitment to public health and well-being within the campus community.
In 2020, IPB University released the Rector’s Decree No. 133/IT3/LK/2020 (page 76) concerning Commitment on Achieving SDGs. In point O, page 77, clearly mentioned smoking prohibition in the campus area.
Circular Letter No: 24714/IT3/HM/M/B/2021 Refers to healthy and sustainable lifestyle in article 5 (page 82, point c) specifies smoking prohibition in the campus area. Article 5, point c, clearly states that: Students and staff are prohibited from smoking or trading cigarettes on the campus.
Students, faculty, and staff are engaged as agents of change to realize a smoke-free campus, with administrative sanctions applied. This policy aligns with IPB University’s green campus vision, which emphasizes sustainability and social responsibility, while also contributing to the reduction of air pollution, cigarette butt waste, and the creation of a safe and healthy campus environment.
IPB University is committed to providing and promoting mental health support to IPB lecturers, and educational staff. IPB provides a counseling program free of charge to all staff and each Department is equipped with a team of counselors as appointed by the Rector’s Decree No.60/IT3/KM/2021.
IPB University has a Counseling Guidance Team which focuses on Mental Health of students and staff.

The Clinic of IPB University has been appointed as a primary/basic health care provider and therefore allows for free-of-charge service for lecturer and public under the national social security agency for healthcare. The Clinic of IPB not only provides assistance for physical health but also mental health.
IPB University’s Faculty of Human Ecology provides mental health consultation services. In addition to direct consultations on the spot, there is also a hotline number that can be contacted if staff or lecturers want to consult regarding mental health.
IPB University organizes the “Healthy Lifestyle for Work-Life Balance” program, aimed at promoting health and well-being practices among all staff. The program emphasizes the development of healthy habits, stress management, and the adoption of balanced routines to enhance both mental and physical health. As part of this initiative, every Friday, IPB University staff participate in selected physical activities from 07:00 to 09:00, making regular exercise a core strategy for maintaining work-life balance. In addition, the program includes excursions to nearby cities to broaden experiences and strengthen social interaction among staff.
This initiative supports SDG 3 by encouraging a healthy balance between work and personal life, helping staff restore their energy, motivation, and productivity. Furthermore, the program provides opportunities for participants to share experiences, learn from one another, and build a supportive and harmonious work environment.
